Melanie’s 30 years’ experience in the energy sector included technical, commercial and HR leadership roles, culminating in her appointment as VP Talent, Capability & Learning at BP plc. Her dual business and HR experience enables Melanie to partner with executive leaders, understand their challenges, and create pragmatic solutions to drive sustainable transformation. She is skilled at working with stakeholders at all levels and in leading and energising large, complex, global teams.
Coming from a scientific background, Melanie is adept at simplifying the complex. Throughout her career, she has traversed a range of people, networks, and perspectives – and she has been fascinated by the commonalities that exist among different communities (and how they can be better utilised). With her systematic thinking and desire to always place herself in her clients’ shoes, Melanie takes a refreshingly thorough approach to her work that leaves no stone unturned.
Melanie has a BSc Hons in Physics from St Andrews University. Having graduated from the Meyler Campbell Mastered Programme, she is a qualified executive coach, and is EMCC accredited. She is certified in the use of Hogan psychometric assessments and is a member of the Institute of Coaching. Her pro bono work includes coaching leaders and CEOs of charities such as Jami, Cancer Research UK, and a regional cancer trust.
